"While visiting Nyaungshwe in Myanmar, I learned that hiring a long boat with a driver was the best way to see the local area and explore nearby Inle Lake. By the early evening, the driver and I were in one of the only boats in sight, with the exception of a fisherman between us and the setting sun.
I quickly snapped this image and then bought a few fish as a thank you to the boat driver, who invited me to join his family for dinner in their thatched bamboo house on stilts. We shared stories using body language, broken English and photos from my camera. I was honoured and humbled to have had this insight into local life and this fisherman made that connection possible."
